— How We Can Help —
Onboarding and training new employees and upskilling current employees can be time-consuming and expensive. With the help of federal programs, we can assist with offsetting some of the costs of training. All programs are designed to help employers improve their economic competitiveness.

Program & Incentives
On-the-Job Training is a federal-funded program made to help employers hire and train individuals for long-term employment. Employers can receive assistance with recruiting, pre-screening, and hiring new employees, as well as help with building a workforce trained with skills tailored to the employer's needs.
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) program provides funding for continuing education, training, and upskilling existing employees.
By registering your business with ApprenticeOhio, you can train your workforce while saving the money you need to keep your business running strong. Businesses gain access to a pool of workers trained to industry specifications at a reasonable cost, and apprentices can earn a living as they train for high-quality, reliable employment and a rewarding career.
The Work Opportunity Tax Credits Program is a federal tax credit incentive designed to help specific groups find employment, achieve self-sufficiency, and cut employer income tax liability. For each new eligible hire, the maximum credit available is $9,600.
Groups covered under WOTC:
- Recipients of qualifying public assistance programs
- Those who have or will soon complete rehabilitative programs
- Veterans
The Federal Bonding Program incentivizes employers to hire individuals with felony backgrounds. The bond, provided free of charge to the employer, is good for $5,000 and lasts six months. It becomes effective on the first day of employment and expires six months later. The employer may continue the bond with the Union Insurance Group directly following the six months if they choose to.
FBP Job Requirements:
- Can be full or part time
- Cannot be done through a temporary agency
- Cannot be self-employed or contracting work
- Must be a job where payroll taxes are deducted and paid to the state of Ohio
- If you live in Ohio and work in another state, you will have to inquire about bonding in the state you work in, as the payroll taxes that are deducted go to the state you work in.
